For their research support and valuable advice, we thank Anne Friebel of the Leipzig Nazi Forced Labor Memorial, Anett Dremel, Dr. Michael Löffelsender, Dr. Daniel Logemann, Dr. Harry Stein, and Sabine Stein of the Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora Memorials Foundation.

Despite our efforts, it has not been possible in every case to clarify the copyrights for the photos and documents shown. Should anyone feel that they have been overlooked, we ask for their indulgence and for a short message.
